The duo were shortlisted from an initial pitch roster that reportedly included two other agencies.
While TNT regional marketing and communications manager Marjorie Graaven declined to disclose details of the agencies involved, she noted that the selection would mark a first regional appointment for Southeast Asia, where the business is currently handled on a local-market basis. “We’re planning for 2008 on marcomms strategies going forward,” said Graaven.
“One of those is appointing a partner that can help us with our business objectives.” It is thought that the company is aiming to bridge the gap between itself and its three key rivals – UPS, FedEX and DHL - which it lags in Southeast Asia.
