Time magazine triumphant at SOPA awards

<p>Time magazine came away the biggest winner at the Society of </p><p>Publishers in Asia (SOPA) awards for editorial excellence. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>In a star-studded evening in Hong Kong attended by the who's who of the </p><p>Asia-Pacific news industry, Time picked up seven of the 14 awards on </p><p>offer. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>They included Excellence in Design, Best Front Cover, Best News </p><p>Photography, Excellence in writing and Best Interactive Publication. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Action Asia won two awards; it was the publication with the second </p><p>biggest number of awards. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>It took home the Best Feature Photography and Best Editorial. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Newsweek, Fortune, Finance Asia, Reader's Digest and the International </p><p>Herald Tribune each won one award. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>It was the second year the SOPA awards have been held to honour </p><p>publications that promote freedom of speech with editorial </p><p>excellence. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Legislative Councillor Emily Lau said in a keynote speech that too many </p><p>of Hong Kong's key decision makers did not acknowledge the fact that </p><p>business and politics were intertwined when they should be separate. </p><p>This remains the impending threat to Hong Kong's freedom of speech, she </p><p>said. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
