Tiguan | Infinite Road, Unlimited View | China

In its latest campaign, Shanghai Volkswagen shows audiences how it rolls.

The auto company has taken a page from Avatar’s book and launched a 3D TVC for its mid-sized SUV Tiguan. The spot, developed by DDB China, aims to exhibit Tiguan’s design and technology via a joyride through Shenzhen.

The ad specifically features the vehicle driving through the city accompanied by a group of rolling tyres, travelling through a distinctly smog-less Shenzhen, going off-road and eventually parallel-parking itself without the help of its dapper driver.

It will be aired in the mainland ahead of the car’s launch, to which the agency notes there has already been 50,000 pre-sale orders.

The 'Infinite Road, Unlimited View' TVC will additionally be supported with elements including print, brochures and leaflets.

The TVC’s 3D technology was also created by production company Smoke and Mirrors, and post production for the spot took a month.
