Three vie for Singapore 2006 global campaign
Singapore's Ministry of Information, Communication & Arts (MICA) has shortlisted three agencies to make final presentations for the S$4 million (US$2.5 million) global and local marketing campaign to promote September's Singapore 2006 mega-event, which revolves around the annual IMF and World Bank Board of Governors meetings.

The event is expected to attract some 16,000 participants - making it the largest meeting hosted by the country - and is supported by the Singapore Biennale visual arts festival and a multitude of other programmes. It is believed that integrated agency alliances led by Bates, Publicis and Y&R are to make final presentations, following an initial tender phase that also involved Ogilvy & Mather and Crush.

"Singapore wants to leverage all these events to build its profile as a global city, so they want a serious global campaign supported by local initiatives," said a source.
