Top distractions
Here's some of the work, stories and oddities that attracted our attention this week. (By the way, we share most of these on our Facebook page as we encounter them.)
1. Samsung mocking Apple in Iceland. This ad sort of makes sense until...wait, ninjas? In Iceland?
2. P&G is marketing shampoo in Japan with videos of shirtless guys giving English lessons (and licking things). Certain staff members have been more captivated by this video than others.
3. A modern-day drama: A Thai starlet is shooting a viral video in a mall. Fans mistake her acting for real rage (apparently she is that good). Their disappointment goes viral.
4. Robotic Twitter responses to customer service enquiries? Not a good idea, as this incident involving Bank of America shows. While an email auto-response is seen as perfectly acceptable, a Twitter auto-response is seen as insensitive and clueless. Another great example of how the medium is the message (not that we needed more proof that Marshall McLuhan was right).
