The Economist marketing head departs after six months

ASIA-PACIFIC - Stefani Chinn, who joined The Economist as regional marketing manager for Asia Pacific in January, is leaving the company.

Stefani Chinn resigns from the Economist after six months

Robert Ferguson, sales director of the Economist Group, confirmed that Chinn is leaving The Economist for personal reasons. "She has done some great work for us here and we are sorry to see her go," he said.

Ferguson added that, “We are currently recruiting for a marketing director who can lead us to the next level around their unique ‘thought leadership’ ideas and integrated marketing programmes that have worked so well in other regions for The Economist and that we are now just starting to bring to Asia.”

Prior to joining the Economist Group, Chinn earned almost 10 years' account management experience with 4A agencies, including Leo Burnett in Hong Kong, M&C Saatchi and George Patterson Y&R in Sdyney, and Euro RSCG in Singapore.

Andrew Au, previously marketing manager, advertising and sponsorship, Asia Pacific for the Economist Group since 2007, joined Fluid Group as business development director last December, and was promoted to the MD role after five months.

Meanwhile, reported earlier this year, BBC Worldwide's digital sales director Inez Albert joined the Economist Group as regional digital director.
