Conrad Bali Resort & Spa
This refreshingly low-key resort is on the island’s southeastern coast. The 298 guestrooms and suites are spacious and comfortable, with Indonesian touches such as dark-wood platform beds, rattan wall screens and carved objets d’art. They are offset by modern sofas with clean lines and rugs in Jonathan Adler-type prints.
The resort has a 30-metre-long swimming pool designed like a meandering lagoon.
Several suites also have terraces edging the pool. The hotel offers a 530 sqm ballroom that

JIMBARAN BAY
Ritz-Carlton
The Ritz-Carlton Bali, set at the southern end of Jimbaran Bay, is unsurprisingly one of the most luxurious on the island. And the resort’s 38 private villas, set apart from the rest of the resort and accessed through a set of large and elaborately carved stone gates, further up the ante.
Each has a private garden gazebo set among blooming plants, plus a private infinity plunge pool with miniature waterfalls and a hot tub. The villas themselves have sea views from every room and are sumptuously outfitted with marble floors, canopy beds, teakwood furniture and double-sized sunken bathtubs — which private butlers fill and cover with rose petals on your arrival.
Transport by golf cart to the main resort ground is available.
The hotel offers seven meeting rooms and a ballroom that can seat more than 500 people for a banquet. Outdoor venues include verdant gardens, at the cliff’s edge or poolside.

Four Seasons Resort & Spa
From the moment a staff member meets you at the airport with a chilled hand towel, the
service at this resort is unparalleled.
The 147 elegant Balinese-style villas have stone walls, thatched roofs and marble floors.
Inside are separate sleeping, bathing and living pavilions, and private plunge pools
with ocean views. At the resort’s cooking school, you can take classes in Balinese
cuisine and tour markets before preparing your buys in a state-of-the-art kitchen.
The hotel offers extensive meeting and function space, and exceptional outdoor gardens for events. Functions can be held on the foreshore, the beach and the lower pool area. Lenovo from Singapore came with 51 delegates in May for five days of meetings and incentives, while General Electronics India came with 30 people for an Asian gala dinner held by the poolside.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT
The Bale

When this hotel opened in Nusa Dua, it was highly controversial. Few developers had chosen the monochromatic, minimalist look on Bali, and many said it did not suit the island’s style.
The Bale is situated on a hill right overlooking the Indian Ocean and has just 20 bungalows and more than 70 pools. It only caters to adults over 16 years of age so groups can be sure of a quiet stay.
Face Restaurant, by the main poolside, features an open kitchen. It is exotic, contemporary and beautifully designed.
There is also a boardroom for 18 people that is perfect for small, corporate meetings.
