Thailand's Open Radio shuts down
Thailand's 24-hour news radio channel, Open Radio, was forced to shut down this week. <BR><BR> According to an official statement by its operator, Grammy Plc, the closure was due to financial difficulties, although speculation is rife that the move was political. One of the station's most popular talkshows, 'Thailand Weekly', had been openly critical of the government and its current caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
