Thailand takes Asian honours in Cannes Film category

CANNES - Thai agencies made a strong showing in this year's Cannes Lions Film category, the winners of which were announced on Saturday.

While the Grand Prix was shared by Cadbury Dairy Milk’s ‘Gorilla’ by Fallon London and the Microsoft Xbox 360 ‘Halo 3’campaign by McCann Worldgroup San Francisco, Asia-Pacific Gold Lion winners included Havells Sylvania ‘Picnic’ by JEH United Bangkok; Thai Atlas Global Food’s ‘Wake Up Thailand’ for its D7 Coffee by Creative Juice G1, which also took home a Silver Lion; Secom Home Security’s ‘The Big Test’ by Dentsu Tokyo; Petronas’ ‘Tan Hong Ming’ by Leo Burnett Malaysia; and Cadbury Schweppes’ ‘Burst’ by George Patterson Y&R Melbourne.

As well as Creative Juice G1, Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai was among the Silver award recipients for its ‘Gas’ campaign on behalf of the Neo Sports’ Sports Television Channel.
