Text 100 Public Relations has expanded its Asia-Pacific presence, rolling out a second consultancy in its New Delhi stronghold, and adding a new operation in Malaysia.
The expansion comes as the agency secured a new business retainer from procurement specialists Ariba, to launch the brand in Australia and handle regional communications duties.
In New Delhi, Text's second brand — Vox — will offer public relations consulting and services, and will be managed by Zacharia James, formerly managing director of Text 100 in the city, who becomes president of the Text 100 Group for India. Rishi Seth takes on the MD role at Text, moving up from a previous position as general manager.
"Text 100 India and Vox India will operate as independent business entities with separate offices, client base and senior consulting team," said James.
"The PR industry in India is undergoing a phase of rapid growth and is steadily maturing. We felt the time was right to explore additional avenues for growth, and invest in a new brand."
Text's new Kuala Lumpur office will initially support the needs of the network's existing multinational clients, including Lenovo and Philips. The office will be led by director and senior consultant Yeow Mei Ling, a recent recruit from Perception Management.
Said Text 100 regional director Ava Lawler: "We expect the bulk of revenues from existing clients in the first year of operations. We will be focusing on new clients gradually; the consumer technology segment has a lot of potential."
