Telstra’s latest spot reimagines enterprise through a miniature world

Stop motion and an acoustic hook bring Telstra’s partnership-first brand platform to life, swapping network specs for a more imaginative take on telcos.

Telstra has launched a new integrated campaign to mark the next chapter of its ‘Wherever we go’ brand platform in Australia. The platform, which first launched in 2024, aims to show how collaboration between enterprises drives real progress across industries.

Developed by Telstra’s creative agency +61 with Bear Meets Eagle on Fire (BMEOF), the 30-second hero spot draws viewers into a miniature world. The film, created by Nexus Studios and Cannes Grand Prix-winning animator Johnny Kelly, uses stop motion to show the ways infrastructure is built in real time in a vintage, retro aesthetic.

The animation tracks how spaces can transform into a connected, bustling landscape, as homes, schools, and skyscrapers rise with the help of different hands. Set to an acoustic melody, the recurring jingle echoes the telco’s core message of achieving more through partnership.

“We set out to create a campaign that matched that ambition—one that moves beyond the literal and ventures into something far more imaginative,” said Alexandra Stickler, client partner at +61.

“With the right partner, anything is possible. This campaign is a celebration of the power of imagination and collaboration at scale,” added Micah Walker, chief creative officer at BMEOF.

The campaign spans online, OOH, radio, and social.

Campaign’s Take: The brand platform’s signature animated approach blends corporate messaging with well-crafted filmmaking that feels refreshing to viewers. While some of the stop motion style’s novelty has faded since the initial 2024 launch, the work trades hard sell for imagination—a breath of fresh air as far as telco spots go, where campaigns can often blur into a sense of sameness. With animation and music front and centre, the ad proves that having brand personality doesn't have to come at the expense of consistency.
