Lowe, BBDO, Ogilvy & Mather, Euro RSCG and incumbent Matari have been invited to pitch for Telkom's entire suite of products and services brands. According to sources, agencies have presented their credentials and will be briefed later in September.
However, two of the five are believed to have turned the invitation down. Telkom wants two agencies to manage the account, said a source, and these shops will be asked to pitch for each new campaign.
“Telkom has so many different brands, from internet to fixed line phones. This means that the two agencies will always be on standby and ready to pitch when something new is launched,” the source explained. Telkom is one of 10 mobile operators in Indonesia.
The domestic giant is partly owned by the government, which has a 51 per cent shareholding.
