Telekom Malaysia calls Hello review

PHNOM PENH - Telekom Malaysia International (TMI) has called a creative review for Hello, its Cambodian offer.

The news follows an announcement from Telekom Malaysia this week that it will de-merge its mobile and fixed line businesses in all markets.

The de-merger will see the company’s mobile businesses, including Celcom in Malay-sia, housed within TMI. The move could trigger a search for an agency to handle TMI’s advertising across the region, said a source.
BatesAsia has declined to pitch for Hello, which it introduced to Cambodia this year. This leaves Malaysia’s Astana International and Torpedo Ideas to compete with local agencies BassaOrchid, Adfocus, Reddot and Addon.

Naga DDB was invited to pitch, but declined because of conflict with DiGi.

The brief is to build the Hello brand and gain market share. Hello is Cambodia’s third-largest mobile telco, with 269,000 subscribers.
