TABEE, which was originally designed to educate Asian buyers on Australian destination and incentives products, has now become a minitrade
show.
Vean Chan, business tourism manager, Asia, of
Tourism Australia, said:
"TABEE was one of the first CEI events of its kind
when it launched eight years ago.
"Now it has grown. We have the highest number
of buyers and sellers ever, 47 industry suppliers will showcase their products and we have over 100
carefully selected corporate buyers," she said.
Chan explained that holding the event in
Thailand was to maximise attendance from
Asian buyers while minimising their travel times.
"Australia has a very different incentive offering
to Thailand, for example, so we don't view it as
holding an event in a competitor market."
Tourism Australia is also assisting Team Australia
with a pre-TABEE mission to Beijing and Shanghai to introduce Australia to potential clients in both cities.
