Prior to his stint at In-Game Media, Chan spent 12 years at Leo Burnett in Shanghai and Hong Kong, where he was the managing director of the Shanghai office and helped bolster the office from 20 staff members to 200. He worked with brands including China Mobile, Fuji Xerox, General Motors, Siemens, Sony and Tiger Beer during his tenure in the Shanghai bureau.
He has also worked at Euro RSCG in the past.
Chan will assume his new role this month and work with Ruth Ang, managing director of TBWA and Tequila in China.
While at TBWA, Chan will continue to serve on In-Game Media’s executive board of directors, which he said “keeps me continuously involved in new media development, which is beneficial to TBWA’s growth in the future.”
"I’d like to work with the new understanding that clients are interested in new media developments that could help inspire more innovative and creative solutions,” he said of his goals at the agency.
Heron, meanwhile, has been in the TBWA network for 16 years and began his career in South Africa, a spokeswoman said, adding that his decision to move is “basically a homecoming”.
TBWA China’s key clients include adidas, Apple, McDonald’s, Mars Foods, Tencent’s QQ and Visa.
