TBWA's Japanese office won two golds. One for its 'Vertical Football' for adidas International, where two players were suspended over a billboard to simulate a game of football with the billboard serving as the pitch, and the second for exceptional innovation in marketing.
TBWA\Hong Kong also won gold for a consumer magazine campaign executed for adidas Australia, while TBWA\Singapore took another gold for its magazine campaign conducted for Sphere, a local community project.
Asia-Pacific accounted for five of 13 pencils TBWA won at the show. TBWA\Shanghai scored a bronze for its instore work, also on behalf of adidas.
The most successful office in the region was Colenso BBDO in Auckland, which won two golds and one bronze pencil for its work on behalf of Government organisation, Environment Waikato. It also won a bronze for exceptional innovation in marketing for its work for distribution firm, Monaco.
BBDO Bangkok snagged a silver for its TV ad for food and drink group, Uni President.
The only other agency to claim a gold pencil for Asia Pacific was Ogilvy & Mather, whose Singapore office earned the top award for outdoor work produced for The Economist magazine. Its Kuala Lumpur shop also won a bronze for its instore work for Kraft Foods. Other regional multiple award winners were Saatchi & Saatchi, which won three silvers and one bronze and Foote Cone & Belding, which scored two silvers and one bronze.
