TBWA\Hakuhodo reshuffles top management

TOKYO - TBWA\Hakuhodo has chosen executive vice-president Ichiro Zama (pictured) to replace Hiroshi Ochiai as president and chief executive from next month.

According to a statement from the agency, the move is designed to strengthen client relationships and enhance growth. Following the transition, Ochiai will serve as non-executive board member of TBWAHakuhodo and a corporate officer of Japanese parent agency Hakuhodo.

Zama is a veteran of Hakuhodo, having joined the firm in 1984. He was appointed executive vice-president of HakuhodoG1 in 2003, and has held his current position since 2006.

Additional staff members set to join the TBWAHakuhodo board at the extraordinary shareholders’ meeting next month include chief operating officer Gary Wenzel and Keith Smith, international president of Omnicom Group’s TBWA network.

TBWAHakuhodo is a joint venture between the two agencies in Japan.
