TBWA\Beijing picks Hwang for ECD role

<P>BEIJING TBWA\China has appointed former Y&R New York creative director Chien Hwang to the ECD role at TBWA\Beijing.</P> <P>Hwang will take a hands-on role with a number of key clients, including Apple, Michelin, Belle, Watson's and MYOB among others. </P> <P>Reporting to Gavin Heron, group CEO, TBWA\China, Hwang will also lead the agency's drive for new business and oversee creative staff development.</P> <P>"I think the main challenges will include doing world-class work for both our global and local clients, and letting creatives here understand that China can and will be as creative as anywhere in the world," he said.</P> <P>At Y&R New York, Hwang looked after the Diet Dr Pepper brand, along with Texaco, Toys R Us and NYC 2012, the city's bid for the Olympic Games. Prior to joining Y&R, Hwang worked at BBDO New York, and has won metal at shows such as Cannes and the New York Festivals.<BR></P>
