Synovate takes research online

Synovate is to offer marketers a potentially faster and cheaper way to question consumers by re-cruiting online panels across the region of people willing to take part in research surveys.

Being able to contact people through the web should reduce the time needed for fieldwork, while online interviewing should also cut costs, the agency said.

The new service has been branded ViewsNet, in line with existing panel operations in North America and Europe.

The first Asia-Pacific panels are scheduled to be open for business over the next quarter in Australia, Japan and Korea, large markets where a significant proportion of the population has access to the web.

Additionally, Synovate is eyeing China and Hong Kong for launch later this year, while a small panel already operating in Singapore will also be upgraded over the course of the year as part of the drive.
