Gordon will be based in Mumbai and report to Synovate's CEO for South Asia, Tim Balbirnie. He will take up the overall management responsibility for Synovate offices and operations in India.
"India is a priority market for Synovate and Mick's appointment bolsters an already-strong senior management team. By adding Mick's experience and leadership to the team, we now have rock solid credentials in operations, client relations and research across the team," said Balbirnie.
Alok Shanker was the MD of Synovate India for five years, but decided to take a break nine months ago for health reasons. He is expected to take up a new role when he resumes work.
Paru Minocha, who has been overseeing the India business for the past nine months with Shanker’s absence, remains executive director and will now manage the research side of the business, focusing on people management, client development and service.
