SINGAPORE Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre is gearing up for a busy final quarter. Last month, it hosted events such as COMEX, EduWorld/EduTech, Glo-bal Franchising & Licensing, NATAS Holidays, 5th Singapore International Advertising Congress, IDEAS!, Asia Brand Festival, among other events. The number of bookings is returning to pre-SARS days. This month, the venue will be cooking up to 60,000 meals for various events such as SIBOS, Maxtor, and Global Entrepolis@Singapore. Business for the first quarter of 2004 is comparable to the past two years. Suntec Singapore director marketing & sales Mr James L Papineau said: "Global Entrepolis @ Singapore, which represents over 20 high-impact events, is the first ever convergence of its kind to be hosted in Singapore. "The mega-event is expected to reach out to 10,000 participants from the United States, Europe, Japan, China, India and Asia Pacific. "The EDB provides this international platform with the hope of materialising Singapore's vision to become a global marketplace and interchange of ideas, knowledge and businesses, riding on Singapore's historical position as an entrepot hub." Other events held at the venue for the rest of the year include PATA Travel Mart and the China Trade Exposition.
