PHUKET Starwood Hotels and Resorts moved its regional sales and marketing conference, one of the largest of its kind for the company, to Phuket earlier this month.

Starwood shows Phuket trust
Originally planned to take place in Kuala Lumpur, the conference was held at the Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket earlier this month. The sales and marketing conference was attended by around 140 delegates from ten countries in Asia, comprising senior hotel management executives. Oliver Bonke, vice-president for sales and marketing, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Asia Pacific said the decision would demonstrate that the island's high-quality resources and large group meetings facilities were ready once more. Bonke said that the "sooner business returns, the sooner the communities rebuild".
