Star's UTV tie-up ready for South Indian expansion

<p>CHENNAI: Star Group has formed a joint-venture with South India's Vijay </p><p>TV in a bid to capitalise on the growth potential of the Tamil language </p><p>market. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The joint-venture is 51 per cent owned by Star and 49 per cent by UTV, </p><p>and covers content, distribution, ad sales and marketing. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Star India chief executive, Peter Mukerjea, said: "Vijay TV will </p><p>complement our success in Hindi language programming, and help us </p><p>penetrate deeper into South India." </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
