CHENNAI: Star Group has formed a joint-venture with South India's Vijay
TV in a bid to capitalise on the growth potential of the Tamil language
market.
The joint-venture is 51 per cent owned by Star and 49 per cent by UTV,
and covers content, distribution, ad sales and marketing.
Star India chief executive, Peter Mukerjea, said: "Vijay TV will
complement our success in Hindi language programming, and help us
penetrate deeper into South India."
