To give its subscribers more value for their money, StarHub has added La Liga programmes such as magazine programme La Liga - a review of the weekend that was, complete with standings, results, best goals, best players, worst players and the worst plays of the week.
Also included is the La Liga Report which previews the upcoming fixtures, including player profiles, fans, press conferences and the Match of the Week.
Ong Bee Lian, StarHub’s vice-president of Home Solutions said: “La Liga is one of the most competitive professional football leagues in the world, and sustains a keen level of interest among viewers in Singapore, especially after the recent high profile signings by the Spanish clubs. We are elated to bring La Liga exclusively to viewers here for another three seasons.”
“Football is the most popular sport genre among Singaporeans and we hope to share that passion through our commitment to bring them the best football action,” she added.
To give Sports Group customers more value and flexibility, StarHub will also be adding La Liga On Demand next month - a new On Demand Channel, which allows viewers using HubStation or HubStation HD to watch selected matches at their convenience at no additional cost if they had missed the 'live' telecasts.
A research paper from Deutsche Bank that suggested telco giants SingTel and StarHub might launch a joint bid to secure the rights to screen English Premier League (EPL) matches in Singapore for the next three seasons.
