Starcom Singapore hit by departures

SINGAPORE - A number of people are set to leave Starcom Singapore as the media agency moves to revamp its business model in Asia.

D Sriram (pictured), CEO of Starcom Mediavest Group Asia, said the agency has been hatching plans to shift away from an execution-led approach to media to a consultancy model for 18 months, adding that some staffers “no longer fit” with the new agency approach.

Dylan Lee and Sapna Mani - directors on the P&G business - are believed to have resigned. They follow Jaswinder Kaur, the outgoing CEO of Starcom Singapore, who resigned last month after 15 years with the company (Media 6 March). A replacement for Kaur is expected to be announced next week.

Other resignations have come from Starcom’s digital arm, Starcom IP, which lost its business director Mark Newton to Qais Consulting a week before Kaur announced she was leaving.

Lee Yew Leong, Benjamin Yeow and Ian Loon are expected to leave Starcom IP.
