Corrigan will continue as SMG Malaysia CEO, but day-to-day management duties will pass to Mediavest general manager Yap Chee Weng, who is being groomed as CEO.
At the same time, Starcom GM Kristine Ong has also been given a product development brief across SMG Malaysia in her new role as chief development officer. Ong previously focused on Malaysia Airlines, but the carrier has frozen its adspend as losses mount.
In a separate development, Starcom Indonesia office head Lisa Ong is moving to Taiwan as managing director from April, taking over from Annie Hsiao, who left at the end of last year for MediaCom China. GM S Ranganathan takes over from Ong.
