Starcom in Australia wins Riedel, retains Harris Scarfe

AUSTRALIA - Starcom has won the business of glassware brand Riedel from Vizeum and retained retail chain Harris Scarfe after a competitive pitch against Nunn Media, Mindshare and OMD.

Starcom has held the Harris Scarfe account for eight years. The agency will "lead Harris Scarfe into a data and analytics-led approach" to retail marketing, said Chris Nolan, Starcom's chief operating officer.

The retailer operates 48 stores across South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, New South Wales, ACT & Queensland and employs more than 2000 people.

Starcom won the Riedel account by "demonstrating how it could transition the Riedel business through the line, rather than focusing purely on one dimensional traditional media", said Josh Sharp, Starcom Sydney group business director. The brand sells high-end wine glasses the come in specific shapes meant to enhance the enjoyment of particular types of wine.

“As well as our strategic approach, Starcom’s digital and social media know-how were instrumental in securing Riedel’s business," Sharp added.
