Starcom Asia-Pacific has recorded new business wins of more than

US$70 million in the first quarter of this year, picking up

clients such as Procter & Gamble, Kellogg's, Long Term Credit Bank of

Japan, Singapore Telecom and a host of dotcom clients across the

region.

The positive start to 2000 comes on the heels of a strong year for

Starcom's Asia-Pacific operations in 1999, when it notched up wins

totalling more than US$400 million with clients such as Heinz,

Motorola, Sony and Diageo.

Last year also marked major Starcom wins on P&G AOR assignments,

including in Sri Lanka, India and Korea (with a three-way venture

between Starcom, Dentsu and local agency Phoenix).

The year ended with the P&G China AOR win when Starcom, in partnership

with MediaVest, beat off incumbent Zenith, OMD and Mediacom.

"Our business has grown more than 40 per cent in the last 12 months, and

this success going into 2000 is a tremendous boost," said Starcom

Asia-Pacific executive regional director Gary Brown.
