Ellis is based in Hong Kong and reports to Star COO Laureen Ong. He will oversee regional advertising sales activities across Asia, and is responsible for developing integrated marketing opportunities and value added solutions for advertisers and marketers.
"Jonathan’s challenge will be to beef up our sales revenues in line with the positive response we’ve had from our viewers," said Eric Abelev, director of corporate affairs and communications, Star Group.
Ellis was previously commercial director at Eurosport in London.
"During his time in this role, Ellis developed strategic alliances with a broad selection of clients and international media agencies. He was central in developing the Yahoo/Eurosport online relationship. This is the type of expertise that Ellis will be able to leverage in his new role with STAR," Abelev said.
