Star India reorganises operation

Regional broadcaster Star has divided responsibility for its India operations between two executives, Peter Mukerjea and Sameer Nair. <BR><BR> Mukerjea will oversee a new corporate arm in India, Star Group, reporting to Star's CEO Michelle Guthrie. Mukerjea will be responsible for corporate functions such as legal, finance, government affairs and corporate communications, as well as Star's investments in Tata Sky, Hathway, Balaji and MCCS. He also has a business development brief. <BR><BR> Nair (pictured) meanwhile has been made India CEO of Star Entertainment, overseeing day-to-day operations such as programming, marketing, ad sales and distribution. He has also been charged with pursuing growth opportunities in new media. Nair reports to Steve Askew, Star COO who recently also assumed the post of Star Entertainment president.
