Spider/D'Arcy acquires OT Advertising in M'sia

<p>D'Arcy has strengthened its creative firepower in Malaysia after </p><p>acquiring another local shop OT Advertising. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>In 1997, the multinational agency bought into Spider Advertising. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Regional creative director Jimmy Lam told MEDIA: "D'Arcy Worldwide </p><p>bought OT to merge with Spider/D'Arcy to rename it D'Arcy Malaysia." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Senior executives from the two agencies have been appointed to head-up </p><p>D'Arcy Malaysia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Spider/ D'Arcy president and chief executive officer T.L. Yeap becomes </p><p>D'Arcy Malaysia's executive chairman, while Omar Shaari and Thomas Low - </p><p>previously OT's managing director and head of creative respectively - </p><p>were named managing director and associate regional creative director </p><p>respectively. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The trio have worked together for many years in the past and Mr Yeap </p><p>said, "This is not an acquisition of an agency but an acquisition of </p><p>friends." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Shaari added, "We parted ways to learn 'kung fu' from different </p><p>masters. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Having mastered different skills, we have decided to come back together </p><p>for one simple reason - compatibility in thought, words and deed." </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
