The move positions Animax South Asia as the first 24-hour network in India dedicated to animation from Japan.
Customised for India and dubbed in Hindi and English, the channel will target India's youth and young adults.
The channel will be distributed through the One Alliance, with SET India representing Animax in advertising sales.
India will mark the fifth Animax operation in Asia, where three Animax feeds are already available for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
According to Todd Miller, managing director of SPE Networks, Asia, "we are localising the channel and creating a customised service specially for Indian viewers."
