Spain Tourism promotes Lera to global marketing role

SINGAPORE - Enrique Ruiz de Lera (pictured), Spain Tourism Board's regional director for India, Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific has been promoted to worldwide head of marketing at Turespanas.

Lera, who was based out of Singapore for the last three-and-a- half years, will be moving to Madrid to take on the new role.

In his previous position as the director for NTO of Spain, Lera’s role was to market and promote Spain as a choice tourist destination directly to the consumers as well as a MICE destination for travel trade and businesses.

In his new role the responsibilities include deciding the international promotional angle for Spain and how to market that angle such that Spain appeals as the choice European destination, again for both consumers and businesses.

A replacement is likely to be announced in the next few months.
