Space Runner wins first Platinum Spike

BALI - Hakuhodo shop Space Runner has walked away with the inaugural Platinum award at this year's Asian Advertising Awards, Spikes 07.

The Japanese team picked up the top award for an integrated campaign for Panasonic Oxyride batteries. In ‘Oxyride manned flight project’, Space Runner documented the journey to power the first manned flight using only batteries.

Meanwhile, out of nearly 4,700 entries, only four golds were handed out. The recipients were JEH United for Smooth E foam (TV); Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai for its IAPA adoption ads (print); Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore for Navy ‘Page-turner’ (direct mail); and Space Runner for the integrated category. “We really wanted to send a signal of where Asian advertising is going,” said Spikes 07 chairman Bob Scarpelli, also DDB Worldwide global chairman and chief creative officer.
