SOUTHEAST ASIA: McCorkell picked to manage Trend Micro PR account

SINGAPORE: McCorkell & Associates has won the Trend Micro PR account after a five-way shootout against both multinational and local agencies.

The company will provide public relations counselling and communications services such as media relations, analyst relations and issues management to Trend Micro, a Tokyo-based anti-virus and Internet content security software provider.

Said Andrew Peters, vice-president Asia-Pacific at McCorkell & Associates: "Our results-driven approach has enabled us to forge winning partnerships with many technologies companies seeking a stronger foothold in the region. We look forward to such a working relationship with Trend Micro."

According to Peters, the brief was to enhance the brand image of Trend Micro and register a high media profile in Singapore.

"Our proposal demonstrated that we understood the client's business well. I would say our strong IT knowledge and expertise in IT media relations put us in a good light," said Peters.

"Our proposal also took into consideration the client's operating and competitive landscape on a day-to-day basis, to allow us to come up with the best executable strategies among those who participated in the pitch."

The contract is for a year, with a half-year review.
