Southeast Asia: Centro hires DDB Advis for Jakarta retail brand fray

JAKARTA: Centro, Jakarta's newest lifestyle department store has chosen DDB Advis over Results and Socrates to handle its account.

Owned by PT Tozy Santosa, Centro opened in October 2003 in Jakarta and competes with Metro and local department store Matahari.

David Wibowo, DDB's managing director, attributed the win to the agency's strategic platform and integrated proposals. "The client felt that there was good chemistry between the teams to maximise productivity."

Budi, marketing and communications manager at Centro, said DDB's knowledge of retail marketing was one of the factors that worked in its favour.

DDB's next challenge will be to successfully launch Centro in Bali ,which is scheduled for October this year and build a brand image and positioning for Centro.
