Southeast Asia: Burnett launches Heineken 'cinema sound check' ad

BANGKOK: Heineken has launched a new 'cinema sound check' commercial, created by Leo Burnett and placed by Starcom.

Entitled 'SWAT', the new spot shows a SWAT team as it tries to take out a gunman holding a hostage in a bar. The spot ends with the SWAT sniper unable to take out the target for fear of hitting a shelf full of Heineken bottles behind him.

"The idea was to create high drama and high action film sequences from various genres of movies, that effectively test the cinema's digital surround sound system just prior to the start of the movie," said Phil McDonald, deputy managing director, Leo Burnett Thailand. "Our previous work used the gangster and horror movie genres. The campaign will continue as we make our way through the many other movie styles."
