South East Asia: Pacquing moves to KL as Pantene creative at Grey

KUALA LUMPUR: Peachy Todino Pacquing has quit as executive creative director of Ogilvy & Mather Philippines, to join Grey Global Group in Malaysia this month.

Grey appointed Pacquing as regional creative director on Pantene shampoo, based in Kuala Lumpur.

Pacquing takes over from Andrew Bell, who has since moved to Ogilvy & Mather Thailand as regional creative director on Pond's and Dove.

In her new role, Pacquing will oversee creative for Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Australia. Pacquing believes her past experience as regional creative director on Kotex helped her clinch the job.

"It's not the easiest job in the world," Pacquing said, while adding that she would not be a "brand police".

Describing her style as collaborative, she said her main role was to align the brand's values with the culture of the specific country. She said her aim would be to work around the challenges faced by Pantene.

Having been steeped in Ogilvy's interactive, direct marketing and below-the-line disciplines, she is looking to tap non-traditional avenues as a means to do something creative for the brand.

At Ogilvy, Pacquing handled accounts such as Nestle, Unilever, The Economist and Kimberly Clark.
