South East Asia: Headline - Malaysia media spend soars with channel launch

Media adspend in Malaysia has grown by 26 per cent to reach RM 2 billion (US$526.3 million) in the first half of the year, according to MindShare. The entry of 8TV and Channel 9 boosted the overall volume by 40 per cent. Based on Nielsen Media Research figures, telecoms has overtaken the financial services as the most advertised product/service category.
