South East Asia: Guinness lauded at Hall of Fame awards in S'pore

SINGAPORE: Guinness has won the Advertiser of the Year award at the Advertising Hall of Fame Awards, organised by the Institute of Advertising Singapore.

The awards, which aim to recognise advertising and media executives as well as marketing and advertising campaigns that stand out, handed Asia-Pacific Breweries Singapore's Guinness the top prize for its 'Why not you?' campaign.

The campaign - developed by Saatchi & Saatchi with MindShare handling media - ran in 2003 and used television, print and radio, as well as below-the-line. While most beer brands used themes of fun and sociability, the Guinness campaign aimed to motivate individuals.

The show also recognised Saatchi & Saatchi as Advertising Agency of the Year, while MindShare won the Media Agency of the Year prize.
