The decision comes after a first phase that also included ZenithOptimedia and Universal McCann. The pitch is the first attempt by Sony to consolidate the region for many years.
A source also pointed out that Sony Pictures had opted out of the ongoing review, which is being managed by London consultancy Billetts International.
It is expected that a final decision will be made during the next two weeks. Separately, a decision is also expected soon on Samsung’s global US$700 million media review, which sees former Sony incumbent Starcom pitching against incumbent MindShare.
