Song to take major China role for WPP
<P>WPP is set to name Ogilvy & Mather Greater China chairman TB Song as the holding company's country head in China. </P> <P>According to sources, the appointment will see Song lead acquisitions and growth of WPP agencies in the mainland, as well as further collaboration between the various agencies within the group.</P> <P>"This will put TB Song outside of Ogilvy, but the question is whether he can remain impartial to companies that are close competitors of Ogilvy," said one source. </P> <P>It is unclear who will replace Song as Ogilvy Greater China chief, although sources pointed to the agency's chairman and CEO, Beijing and Northern China, Shenan Chuang, as a potential candidate for the position. </P> <P>Former Citibank and Hongkong Telecom senior executive Dr William Lo Wing Yan previously filled WPP's country head post in China.</P> <P> </P>
