Smirnoff debuts web-based competition

AUSTRALIA - Smirnoff has launched an online scavenger hunt targeting young consumers.

The competition offers Australians the chance to win tickets to a secret party organised by the brand.

To do this they can download desktop, Facebook and mobile applications that offer clues to the location of Thewayin Deejay, a mysterious figure holding a pair of party passes.

Thewayin Deejay turns on his phone and uploads a conversation directly to the campaign's website and blog, and his position is revealed live on Google maps using GPS technology. This then sparks a race to find him and win tickets.
