SmarTone-Vodafone promotes home broadband

HONG KONG - SmarTone-Vodafone has launched a digital campaign, coupled with a TVC and outdoor ads, to publicise its entrance into the home broadband market.

The campaign, created by OgilvyOne, promotes its broadband box that serves as a wireless router and phone jack, functioning as a full-service connection appliance for every household communication gadget.

According to Sean Rach, managing director of OgilvyOne Hong Kong, the agency sought to play on the device’s appeal and created the campaign around the song ‘You sexy thing’.

The clip will air as a TVC and will have print displays that can also be seen on SmarTone-Vodafone’s website.

“It’s big business to be entering the home broadband market as a traditional mobile telco provider,” Rach said. “The box itself is black and sleek and kind of sexy, so we made the product the hero. We figured that if you pay attention to the ad and then you look at the product you’ll find it’s really compelling."
