He added that, after a 20-year career in the telecoms and technology world, he would “hopefully be giving the wider marketing community the benefit of my experience”.
Mallia said he would be Asia-focused at first, helping established brands build their operational structures. “I want to give good, direct, practical advice”. He will also seek to advise agencies who “need more specific insider knowledge of the categories they’re dealing with.”
He worked as an independent advisor in the UK prior to taking up the role with SmarTone.
A successor has not yet been appointed. Mallia leaves his role at the end of April.
