Six vie for HKTB advertising account

HONG KONG Six agencies - Euro RSCG, Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi, DDB and Grey - will contest the Hong Kong Tourism Board's advertising tender, after attending a briefing session last week.

Agencies have been asked to respond to the tender by 28 February, followed by pitch presentations on 3 March. The result is expected to be announced by the end of March.

It is thought that the brief is looking for an international agency that possesses strong creative abilities, allied to a reliable global network. A number of 4As agencies, including the likes of Leo Burnett, JWT and BBDO, have passed on the opportunity.

Draft FCB resigned its lengthy hold on the account in 2007, since when the HKTB has been contracting out work on a project basis.
