Singh charged with revival of Universal

Universal McCann China's incoming chief executive officer, Manpreet Singh, has been tasked with reversing the flagging agency's fortunes, after a difficult period which saw the defection of key clients L'Oreal and Nestle among others to its rivals.

Singh, who will report to Asia-Pacific president David Morgan, will be based in Shanghai from the end of February. His appointment follows the departure of China MD Torrie Henderson last year, who moved to OMD.

He said: "I need to bring international tools to China, bring energy and new communications strategies, delivering to clients accountable solutions."

Singh joins Universal after 11 years with MindShare Group Singapore.
