Singapore's EDB issues digital tender

SINGAPORE - The Singaporean Economic Development Board (EDB) is hunting for a digital agency.

According to the tender document issued by the EDB, the Governmental department will accept digital agency submissions until 10 September and shortlisted agencies will be notified in time to make presentations on 22 September.

The EDB aims to have an agency in place by 1 October, the document continues, and the contracted agency will hold the account for 22 months with the option to extend the contract an additional year.

The agency-call is in line with the EDB’s overarching goal of presenting the city-state as a premier business hub and compliments its recent appointment of JWT and MEC for a large-scale integrated marketing campaign.

The tender document notes that the appointed digital agency will cooperate with both JWT and MEC: “Digital will play a critical role in the overall campaign. EDB is therefore looking to engage a digital agency that will be able to both serve EDB’s day-to-day needs; and work closely with our appointed creative and media agencies to develop a comprehensive digital strategy for EDB and the Singapore business brand.”

That media and creative tender attracted approximately 11 agency pairs comprised of one media agency and one creative agency housed within the same parent company. JWT/Mindshare, Ogilvy/MEC and Publicis/Zenith were the shortlisted partners in the review before JWT and MEC were singled out for the business.
