Singapore TV ratings talks break down

Negotiations between Singapore's media agencies and MediaCorp over the TNS requirement that agencies pay for its TV ratings data have broken down, with MediaCorp stating that it will now market the data directly to agencies.

According to a MediaCorp statement, talks proved "inconclusive", after the broadcaster took over negotiations in place of TNS. "We have to seriously consider the cost of doing business and what we can realistically afford to pay for research data for one media," said 4As media committee chairman Julie Tilley.
