Singapore drives record PR Awards entries

The 2006 Asia-Pacific PR Awards has received a record 330 entries, driven by surging interest from Singapore, China and Taiwan. <BR> <BR> Overall entries are up 18 per cent over last year's figure, with Singapore entries up by 53 per cent. Taiwan doubled its 2006 entries over 2005, while China saw 33 per cent growth. Hong Kong leads the field with 84 entries, followed by Singapore with 66, China with 48, and Australia with 47. <BR> <BR> Now in its sixth year, this year's Awards, organised by Media, features 16 judges on its main panel, led by 12 senior client communicators. The roster includes such names as Ford Motor Asia-Pacific and Africa public affairs director Whitney Small; Nokia regional communications director Wong Ai Fong; Coca-Cola China public affairs and communications VP Brenda Lee; and Bristol Myers Squibb regional director of corporate and business communications Stephen Haynes.
